1. About This Disclaimer

This Disclaimer applies to all content, information, listings, and services available on NRIScope (“the Platform”), accessible at www.nriscope.com. NRIScope is a free platform created for the global Non-Resident Indian (NRI) community. By accessing or using this platform in any manner, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms set out in this Disclaimer.

NRIScope is owned and operated by an Australian resident. This Disclaimer is governed by Australian law. All users, regardless of their country of residence or nationality, agree to be bound by Australian jurisdiction when using this platform.

2.0 Current Service Regions & Scope

NRIScope operates on a phased regional launch model. The scope of listings and directory services currently available is as follows:

2.1 Active Regions

  • Australia — Business Directory, Events, and Organisation listings are active and available
  • New Zealand — Business Directory, Events, and Organisation listings are active and available

2.2 Upcoming Regions (Not Yet Active)

  • Canada — Listing services not yet available; launch date to be confirmed
  • United States of America — Listing services not yet available; launch date to be confirmed
  • United Kingdom — Listing services not yet available; launch date to be confirmed
  • Other Countries — To be progressively added as the platform expands

Users from countries not yet covered by active regional services may still register on the platform and access general content. However, regional business listings, event directories, and organisation profiles will only be available for regions that have been formally launched.

NRIScope is owned and operated by an Australian resident. This Disclaimer is governed by Australian law. All users, regardless of their country of residence or nationality, agree to be bound by Australian jurisdiction when using this platform.

ℹ  NOTE: NRIs from countries not yet covered by active listing services are welcome to register and browse the platform but may not submit listings for their region until services for that region are officially launched by NRIScope.

3. General Information Disclaimer

All content published on NRIScope — including business listings, event information, organisation details, articles, and any other material — is provided for general informational purposes only. NRIScope does not warrant, guarantee, or represent the accuracy, completeness, reliability, currency, timeliness, suitability, or fitness for any particular purpose of any information published on the platform, whether submitted by NRIScope or by third-party users.

NRIScope is not responsible for any errors, omissions, inaccuracies, or outdated information in content submitted and published by third-party users. You rely on any information found on this platform entirely at your own risk and should independently verify any information before acting upon it

4. User-Generated Content Disclaimer

4.1 Publisher Responsibility

Each user who publishes any content on NRIScope — whether a business listing, event, organisation profile, or any other information — is solely, exclusively, and personally responsible for:

  • The accuracy, truthfulness, completeness, and legitimacy of all information they submit
  • Ensuring the content does not violate any applicable law in Australia, New Zealand, or the user’s country of residence or business operation
  • Keeping all published information current, accurate, and up to date at all times
  • Ensuring they hold all necessary rights, permissions, licences, and authorisations to publish the content
  • Ensuring the content does not infringe the intellectual property, privacy, or other rights of any third party

4.2 Mandatory Obligation to Update

All publishers are required to notify NRIScope and update their listing or profile promptly — and no later than 14 calendar days — whenever any material change occurs to the published information. This includes changes to business operations, trading name, contact details, operating hours, event schedules, dates or venues, or organisation status, leadership, or activity.

⚠  IMPORTANT: Failure to maintain updated and accurate listings may result in removal of content without notice, suspension of the user account, and potential reporting to relevant regulatory authorities if the outdated information is found to be misleading or deceptive.

5. NRIScope’s Rights as Platform Administrator

This section outlines the exclusive and absolute administrative rights held by NRIScope’s owner and administrator. These rights are a fundamental and non-negotiable condition of using the platform.

5.1 Exclusive Right to Request Information & Verification

NRIScope’s owner and administrator reserve the exclusive, unconditional right to request any details, documents, proof of identity, business registration certificates, event permits, organisation incorporation documents, or any other supporting information from any user or publisher at any time, with or without notice, and without providing reasons.

5.2 Exclusive Right to Delist Content Without Notice

NRIScope reserves the absolute, exclusive, and unconditional right to delist, remove, edit, suspend, or permanently delete any published listing, profile, event, organisation, or other content from the platform at any time, without prior notice, and without providing reasons, including in the following circumstances:

  • The content is determined or suspected to be fake, false, misleading, fraudulent, or deceptive
  • The content has not been updated and is no longer accurate, current, or relevant
  • The content violates Australian law, New Zealand law, or any applicable international law
  • The content contains defamatory, discriminatory, hateful, vilifying, or harmful material directed at any person or group
  • The publisher fails to respond to or comply with an administrator’s request within the required timeframe
  • The content is a duplicate of another listing or was submitted with intent to deceive or mislead
  • The content promotes, facilitates, or advertises illegal goods, services, or activities
  • The listing is for a business or organisation operating in a region that has not yet been officially launched by NRIScope
  • Any other reason deemed by NRIScope’s administrator to be contrary to the integrity, safety, or interests of the NRI community

⚠  IMPORTANT: NRIScope’s decision to delist any content is final, binding, and not subject to review or appeal. Delisted content will not be reinstated unless satisfactory verification is provided to the sole and absolute satisfaction of the administrator. No compensation, damages, refunds, or remedy of any kind shall be payable to any user whose content is removed.

6. No Endorsement

The appearance of any business, organisation, event, or individual on NRIScope does not constitute, and should not be construed as, an endorsement, recommendation, verification, approval, or certification by NRIScope of the quality, legality, suitability, or reliability of any goods, services, activities, or persons promoted through listings on our platform.

Users are strongly and specifically advised to conduct their own thorough, independent due diligence before engaging with, transacting with, or relying upon any business, organisation, event, or individual listed on NRIScope. NRIScope accepts no responsibility for any loss, damage, or harm suffered as a result of any user’s reliance on platform listings.

7. No Professional Advice

Nothing on NRIScope constitutes, or should be relied upon as, legal, financial, taxation, immigration, medical, investment, business, or any other form of professional advice. Any information that may appear to relate to legal, financial, or professional matters is provided for general informational purposes only and does not take into account your personal circumstances.

You should always seek the advice of a suitably qualified and licensed professional before making any decisions or taking any action based on information obtained from NRIScope. This is particularly important for matters involving immigration, taxation, investment, and legal rights in Australia, New Zealand, or any other country.

8. Region-Specific Disclaimer

NRIScope currently provides active listing services only for Australia and New Zealand. Information about businesses, events, and organisations listed in these regions is subject to Australian and New Zealand laws respectively, including but not limited to:

  • Australian Consumer Law (Schedule 2 of the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth))
  • Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles
  • New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and Fair Trading Act 1986
  • New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Information Privacy Principles

As NRIScope expands to Canada, USA, UK, and other regions, listings in those regions will be subject to the laws of those respective countries. NRIScope will publish region-specific guidance at the time of each regional launch

ℹ  NOTE: Users from Canada, USA, UK, and other non-active regions are reminded that they may not submit regional listings until services for their region are officially launched. Any attempt to submit listings for inactive regions may result in the listing being removed without notice

9. Third-Party Links & External Content

NRIScope may contain links to third-party websites, social media pages, or external online resources. These links are provided solely for the convenience of users. NRIScope has no control over the content, accuracy, privacy practices, policies, or terms of use of any linked third-party website and accepts no responsibility or liability for them.  

Your decision to access any third-party link from NRIScope is made entirely at your own risk. NRIScope strongly recommends that you read the terms and privacy policy of any third-party website before interacting with it.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law and New Zealand law (as applicable), NRIScope, its owner, administrator, employees, contractors, agents, and affiliates shall not be liable for:

  • Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the platform
  • Any loss of profits, revenue, data, business opportunities, goodwill, or reputation arising from content published on, or removed from, the platform
  • Any loss or damage arising from your reliance on information published by third-party users on the platform
  • Any technical errors, downtime, outages, or interruptions in service
  • Any unauthorised access to or alteration of your data
  • Any damages arising from listings published in regions not yet officially launched by NRIScope

NRIScope’s total aggregate liability to any user shall not exceed the total amount paid by that user to NRIScope in the 12-month period preceding the claim. Given that NRIScope is provided entirely free of charge, this maximum liability shall be AUD $0 (nil).

Nothing in this Disclaimer excludes or limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be lawfully excluded under the Australian Consumer Law or the New Zealand Consumer Guarantees Act.

11. Compliance with Laws

All users of NRIScope — regardless of their country of residence, nationality, or the region in which they operate their business or organisation — are required to comply with all applicable laws, including:

  • The laws of Australia, including the Australian Consumer Law, Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), Spam Act 2003 (Cth), and the Australian Securities and Investments Commission Act 2001 (Cth)
  • The laws of New Zealand, including the Privacy Act 2020, the Fair Trading Act 1986, and the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007
  • The laws of the user’s country of residence and the country in which their business or organisation is registered or operates
  • Any applicable international laws governing online conduct, intellectual property, consumer protection, and data protection

NRIScope does not condone any unlawful activity on the platform. Any content found to be in breach of applicable law will be removed immediately and, where required or appropriate, reported to relevant law enforcement or regulatory authorities in Australia, New Zealand, or the relevant jurisdiction.

12. Intellectual Property

All original content, branding, design elements, logos, trademarks, trade names, software, code, and materials created by or on behalf of NRIScope are the exclusive intellectual property of NRIScope and its owner. All rights are reserved. Unauthorised reproduction, copying, modification, distribution, transmission, publication, or use of NRIScope’s intellectual property in any form is strictly prohibited without prior written permission from NRIScope’s administrator.

By submitting content to NRIScope, users grant NRIScope a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual, worldwide licence to display, reproduce, distribute, and promote the submitted content on the platform and through associated marketing channels (including social media). Users confirm that they hold all necessary rights to grant this licence.

13 Governing Law & Jurisdiction

This Disclaimer, and all matters arising from or in connection with your use of NRIScope, shall be governed exclusively by the laws of Australia. The primary applicable legislation includes the Australian Consumer Law, the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth), and all other applicable Commonwealth and State laws of Australia.

Any dispute, claim, or legal proceeding relating to NRIScope or this Disclaimer — whether brought by a user in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, the United States of America, the United Kingdom, India, the UAE, or any other country in the world — shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Australia.

⚠  IMPORTANT: By using NRIScope, you expressly, irrevocably, and unconditionally agree that Australian law and Australian courts have exclusive jurisdiction over any and all disputes arising from your use of this platform, regardless of where you are located, where your business is registered, or where the relevant event or listing occurred.

14 Changes to This Disclaimer

NRIScope reserves the right to amend, update, or replace this Disclaimer at any time and without prior notice. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated version number and effective date. Where changes are material, NRIScope will endeavour to provide reasonable advance notice to registered users.

Continued use of the platform following the posting of any changes to this Disclaimer constitutes your acceptance of the revised Disclaimer. We encourage all users to review this page periodically.
