About NRIScope
What is NRIScope?
NRIScope is a free online directory for NRIs – Indians living abroad. It helps you find NRI businesses, Indian community events, doctors who speak your language and community organisations in your city.
Is NRIScope free to use?
Yes. Browsing NRIScope is free, and so is listing your business. There are no subscriptions and no hidden fees.
Which countries does NRIScope cover?
We currently cover Australia and New Zealand, organised by city, with more countries on the way. If your town is not listed yet, choose “Other Cities & Towns”.
Can I list an event, a medical practice or an organisation?
Yes. You can list a business, a community event, a medical profile or a community organisation / place of worship – all free. Log in, open My Account → Add Listing and choose the type.
How can I support NRIScope?
Share listings and offers with friends and family on WhatsApp, and let the NRI businesses you know that they can list on NRIScope for free.

BUSINESS LISTINGS
Listing Your Business
Who can list a business on NRIScope?
Any business owned or run by an NRI – Indian restaurants and grocery stores, but also accountants, trades, salons, IT services, Italian or Chinese restaurants, or any other kind of business.
How much does a listing cost?
Nothing. Listing your business on NRIScope is free.
How do I add my business?
Create a free account, open Add Listing and choose Business. Fill in your details and submit – our team checks every listing before it goes live, and you will receive an email as soon as it is published.
Why is my listing not showing yet?
Every new listing – and every change to a listing – is checked by our team before it appears on the site. You will receive an email as soon as it is published. If you have been waiting more than a few days, please contact us.
Can I update my listing later?
Yes. Log in and open My Listings to update your details, opening hours, photos or menu / price list. Changes are checked by our team before they go live.
How do special offers work?
When adding or editing your listing, choose Yes for “Do you have a current offer?” and add the offer title, details and dates. An offer can run for up to 30 days. It shows on your listing, on your card and in your city’s Current Offers & Deals, can be shared on WhatsApp or through your phone’s own share options (Facebook, Messenger, SMS and more), and disappears automatically after the end date.
Can I show that my business is temporarily closed?
Yes. Edit your listing, set Temporarily closed? to Yes and add the closed-from and reopening dates, with an optional short message. Visitors see a holiday notice before and during the closure, and it disappears automatically after you reopen.
How does the “Open now / Closed now” label work?
It is worked out from the opening hours you enter and the local time in your city, so please keep your hours up to date. If no opening hours are entered, the label is not shown.
Can I add a menu or price list?
Yes. Add your items or services with an optional quantity / size and price. Your menu or price list gets its own link and QR code, so customers can open it straight from their phone.
What photos can I add?
You can add one main image plus up to 4 more photos. Use JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 2 MB each – large phone photos are resized automatically before upload.
- Main image – a photo: best size 1200 × 675 pixels, landscape (16:9). The whole photo is always shown, never cropped.
- Main image – a logo: best size 800 × 800 pixels, square. A PNG with a transparent or white background looks cleanest.
- Gallery photos: best size 1200 × 800 pixels, landscape (3:2). Keep the main subject in the middle, because the gallery previews may trim the edges.
How will customers find my business?
By browsing your city on NRIScope, by typing in the search box on your city page, through Google search, and when people share your listing or your offers on WhatsApp and social media.
How can customers find my business quickly in search?
Our search reads much more than your business name. It also looks at your Business Type, your Services Offered, your Menu / Price List, your Business Description, the languages you speak, your Regional Speciality and your suburb. The more complete your listing, the more searches it appears in – and the higher it shows.
- List every service you offer under Services Offered, one per line, in the words customers actually use – for example “Roof restoration”, “Gutter cleaning” and “Hot water repairs”, not only “Plumbing”.
- Write a clear Business Description: what you do, what you specialise in, the areas you cover and anything special about you – for example “Authentic Gujarati thali and farsan, catering for weddings and functions across Perth”.
- Add your menu or price list items by their real names – for example “Amritsari Kulcha”, “Masala Dosa” or “Bridal Mehndi”.
- Tick every language you and your staff speak, and choose the right Business Type and Regional Speciality.
- Keep your suburb and postcode correct, so people searching their area find you.
Tip: think of the words a customer would type into the search box and make sure they appear somewhere in your listing. Please keep it accurate – only list services you really offer. Listings with misleading information may be removed.
MEDICAL PROFESSIONALS
Listing Your Medical Profile
Who can list a medical profile on NRIScope?
Doctors, specialists, dentists and allied health professionals (for example physiotherapists, chiropractors and dietitians) who practise in Australia or New Zealand. You can list yourself, or a practice manager can list you with your permission.
How much does a medical profile cost?
Nothing. Medical profiles on NRIScope are free.
How do I add my medical profile?
Log in (or register free), open My Account → Add Listing and choose Add Medical Profile. Fill in the three short steps – about you, your clinics, and the agreement – and submit. Our team checks every profile and emails you when it is live.
What photo should I upload?
A photo is optional but strongly recommended – patients trust profiles with a photo. Please upload a passport-size photo of yourself:
- Portrait (taller than wide), like a 35 × 45 mm passport photo
- Head and shoulders, facing the camera, face clearly visible
- Plain, light background; no sunglasses, hats or filters
- Best size 800 × 1000 pixels (portrait 4:5); at least 400 × 500 pixels
- JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 2 MB
Landscape photos, group photos, clinic logos and pictures of the building are not accepted. Your photo is shown in a circle on your profile and on the listing cards, so keep your face in the middle of the picture.
My photo was not accepted. What should I do?
The form only accepts passport-size photos. If your photo is refused, you will see a red message under the photo field telling you why (usually because it is landscape or too small).
To fix it, crop the photo to a portrait shape (for example with the 4:5 or 3:4 crop on your phone’s Photos app) so that your head and shoulders fill the picture, then upload it again. If the photo is too small, use the original photo from your phone or camera rather than one saved from WhatsApp or social media.
The photo is optional, so you can also submit your profile now and add a photo later with My Account → My Listings → Edit Post.
I work at more than one clinic. Can I add them all?
Yes. You can add up to three clinics. Each clinic has its own address, phone, email and (optional) consultation hours, and patients get a Call and Get Directions button for each one.
Do I have to add consultation hours?
No. GPs and clinics with set hours can add them. Specialists who see patients by appointment can leave them empty – the hours section is then simply not shown.
How do I update my profile?
Go to My Account → My Listings and choose Edit Post on your profile. Your changes are checked by our team before they go live, and we email you when they are approved.
How will patients find me?
Your profile appears on your city page (for example NRI Medical Professionals in Perth). Patients can also search by your name, specialty, suburb or the languages you speak, and your profile can appear in Google.
Does NRIScope recommend or check doctors?
NRIScope is a community directory, not a medical service. Profiles are provided by the professionals themselves and checked by our team before they go live, but we do not give medical advice or endorse practitioners. Patients can check a practitioner’s registration with the relevant national regulator, for example AHPRA in Australia or the Medical Council of New Zealand.
EVENTS
Listing Your Event
Who can list an event on NRIScope?
Community groups, temples and places of worship, associations, businesses and individuals who organise events for the Indian and NRI community in Australia or New Zealand.
How much does it cost to list an event?
Nothing. Event listings on NRIScope are free.
How do I add my event?
Log in (or register free), open My Account → Add Listing and choose Add Event. Fill in the three short steps – about the event, date and venue, and the organiser – and submit. Our team checks every event and emails you when it is live.
What poster or photo should I upload?
Your event flyer or a good photo is optional but recommended.
- Best size: 1080 × 1350 pixels, portrait (4:5) – the same size as an Instagram or Facebook post, so you can upload the same file.
- Square 1080 × 1080 pixels also works well.
- JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 2 MB.
The whole poster is always shown on your event page (never cropped), so keep the text large enough to read on a phone.
How do people contact the organisers?
Add the organisers under Organiser Contacts. Each contact gets a green WhatsApp button on your event page. Please include the country code, for example +61 412 345 678 or +64 21 123 4567. The organiser email is not shown on the page.
Can people buy tickets on NRIScope?
No. NRIScope does not sell tickets. If people need to book or register, add your own booking link (for example Eventbrite or TryBooking) and a Book / Register button appears on your event page.
The date, time or venue changed. How do I update my event?
Go to My Account → My Listings and choose Edit Post on your event. Changes are checked by our team before they go live. For a last-minute note, use the Important Announcement box – it is shown at the top of your event page.
What happens after my event is over?
The day after it ends, your event moves from Upcoming Events to Recent Past Events on your city page. The event page stays online with a note that the event has ended, so shared links and QR codes keep working.
How will people find my event?
Your event appears on your city page (for example NRI Events in Perth). People can also search by the event name, category, type, venue, suburb, performer, language or month, and you can share your event with its own link, QR code or WhatsApp.
ORGANISATIONS
Listing Your Organisation or Place of Worship
Who can list an organisation on NRIScope?
Indian and NRI community associations, places of worship (temples, gurdwaras, mosques and churches), religious and spiritual groups, charities and other community groups such as sports clubs, seniors’ groups and student networks. The listing should be added by a committee member or someone the organisation has authorised.
How much does it cost to list an organisation?
Nothing. Listing your organisation on NRIScope is free. There are no subscriptions and no hidden fees.
How do I add my organisation?
Log in, open My Account → Add Listing and choose Organisations & Places of Worship. The form has three short steps: about your organisation, address & contact, and activities. Our team checks every listing before it goes live, and we email you as soon as it is published.
What logo or photo should I upload?
One image – your logo or a good photo of your building or members. Use JPG, PNG or WebP, up to 2 MB.
- Logo: best size 800 × 800 pixels, square. A PNG with a transparent or white background looks cleanest.
- Photo: best size 1200 × 675 pixels, landscape (16:9).
The whole image is always shown on your page, never cropped.
How do we show our weekly bhajans, classes or other regular activities?
Add them under Weekly Activities in the last step of the form: the activity name, the day(s), how often (every week, every 2 weeks or once a month), the time and a short note. They appear as a clear timetable on your organisation page.
Should our festival or annual event go here or in Events?
Please list one-off or yearly events – Diwali, Navratri, Holi, an annual day or a fundraiser – as an Event, with its real date. Events appear on the city’s events page and disappear automatically once they are over. Use Weekly Activities only for programmes that repeat regularly.
Can we add opening hours?
Yes – mainly for places of worship. Add one row per day, with a morning and (if you have one) an evening time. Days with the same hours are shown together, for example “Mon – Sun 6:00 AM – 12:00 PM, 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM”.
How do I update our listing?
Log in and go to My Account → My Listings, then choose Edit. Change what you need and submit again. Our team checks the changes before they go live.
How will people find our organisation?
Your organisation appears on its city page (for example NRI Community Organisations in Perth), where visitors can filter by type such as Places of Worship or Community Associations. People can also search by name, activity (yoga, bhajan, Hindi classes), language or suburb – so describe what you do in the About section and tick every activity and language that applies.
